Engineering & Office Administrator / Customer Service Leader

This Midlands-based candidate is a highly experienced Engineering Administrator with a strong background in office coordination, customer service leadership and logistics. Over 15+ years, they’ve progressed from frontline customer service into supervisory and management positions and now combine hands-on administration with project support, credit control, purchasing, and ISO processes in an engineering environment.

They act as a key point of contact for all incoming communications, handling customer enquiries by phone and email, producing quotations, managing orders from enquiry through to invoicing, and resolving issues quickly and professionally. Confident dealing with stakeholders at all levels, they have a proven track record of improving processes, reducing errors and strengthening customer relationships.

Recent & Relevant Experience

  • Engineering / Works Administration
    Central coordination of engineering jobs from quotation to completion. Preparing job packs, arranging site visits, ordering and booking in stock, matching purchase invoices, and raising final invoices. Involved in credit control and works closely with finance.

  • Quality & Compliance Support
    Experience maintaining ISO 9001 documentation, supporting internal audits, updating office documentation and ensuring policies and procedures remain current and compliant.

  • Office Coordination & Sales Support
    Responsible for general office coordination including filing, diary and travel management, setting up and maintaining client records, managing shared inboxes, supporting sales and marketing activity, and arranging logistics/dispatch with external partners.

  • Customer Service Management & Team Leadership
    Previous roles have included managing teams of 5–6 in customer service/transport environments. Responsible for order processing, complaint handling, returns, stock control, KPI reporting, training, coaching and performance reviews, as well as contributing to cost-reduction and service-improvement initiatives.
