The Candidate Market Today
As recruiters, we see firsthand what the market is like and we have never seen it the way it is now. To say it is candidate-driven would be an understatement. We have seen Companies losing candidates due to not moving quickly enough. We cannot emphasise enough how important it is to go through the recruitment process as smoothly and quickly as possible. We have seen candidates with 1, 2 or even 3 offers on the table at one time. They really do have the upper hand right now.
At Arden Personnel, we want to work exclusively with you. Using lots of different agencies may seem like a good idea, however, if you have several recruiters speaking with the same pool of candidates it can get very confusing and less appealing for both us as a recruiter and the candidate. We highly recommend just working with one agency to ensure it all runs as smoothly as possible.
Gone are the days where you would have 6+ CVs to review and interview, we are finding 1 or 2 candidates is sufficient. We have interviewed these candidates and we have gone through everything to ensure they are a suitable fit for you, it is important to remember that your first interview is actually their 2nd interview. If you have a good candidate in front of you and you like them and they can do the job, snap them up because you can bet that they will be snapped up by somebody else very quickly and you will lose them.
Lissa today is working on several vacancies today with one candidate, this candidate can be placed in various jobs due to her skills. Within an hour, this candidate has been contacted by 2 different agencies with other vacancies. We can guarantee she will be placed within 24 hours. I have also just spoken with a candidate who we are arranging an interview for, yesterday he didn’t have any other interviews, and now he has 3! Again, another candidate who will no doubt be placed by the end of the week.
If you would like to discuss this further or have a vacancy that you are struggling to fill please do not hesitate to contact us. We are here to help.
