Project Engineer

Alcester • Permanent • Full time – Monday-Thursday 8-17.00 Friday finish at 13.00 Salary up to £40,000 DOE

Arden Personnel are recruiting for a Project Engineer for our client based in Alcester

Day to day duties are as follows:

  • Assisting with or directly coordinating all aspects of design, manufacturing, implementation, testing and commissioning required to deliver the scope of the project so as to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Assisting with or creating and managing Project documentation, for example timing plans, appropriate project logs, project initation documents, outstanding issues lists, RFQs, design reviews, product manuals, spares lists, bills of materials, costs to completion
  • Production of drawing packages – issuing and controlling drawings
  • Project filing
  • To organise and prioritise own work requirements to meet deadlines
  • Visit key customers and suppliers
  • Support project related travel arrangements
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding both technical and commercial matters and raise POs as required, liasing with internal purchasing department
  • Management of BOM from Solidworks output to internal ERP system
  • Support the sourcing of assemblies, components and services
  • Accountable for ensuring the products complies with all contractural and legal requirements, particularly those that relate to certification

The Successful Project Engineering must have the following skills/experience

  • Must have previous experience in a similar role
  • Formal mechanical/electrical engineering qualification preferred but not essential
  • Strong technical/practical ability
  • High degree of computer literacy and all round knowledge of MS Office
  • Passionate about engineering and must have demonstrable practical personal experience
  • Able to read and understand an engineering drawing
  • Understanding of bills of material and taking concept through to design, through to manufacture
  • Understanding and realising business process flow, the phases of a project, ie concept development, costs management, drawing development, drawing control, procurement, QA checks, production, test and approval, dispatch, onsite commissioning test and support
  • Able to prepare and understand the plan, manage steps to deliver plan
  • Prepared to travel internationally at times
  • Must have a full UK driving licence
